What is your experience with 3D custom-made technique?
For some years, I have been using custom-made implants to correct Pectus Excavatum. The personalized design, exclusive to each patient, fits the deformity perfectly and has achieved very good results so far.
Do you have an example of an indication treated with that technique?
Our expertise does not only focus on conventional Pectus Excavatum, but also on more complex cases, like extended chest wall reconstruction. Or patients who performed a breast augmentation that was not adapted. To treat the funnel chest, we had to process retrospectively (by removing the breast implants), correct the Pectus deformity and then comply with the initial request of breast augmentation.
What is your feedback from the implant technique?
The correction of the sunken chest with custom-made implants has led to very good results for the patients. Especially for young patients who have been confronted with that condition and their appearance for many years. Now they can benefit from a technique with an acceptable scar and a good compensation for their chest depression, improving their mental and life wellbeing.
